Tips for purchasing post-frame (pole barn) type Indoor Riding Arena

1. Only buy your indoor arena from the company that has experience in building arenas and has built arenas before.

2. Make sure your kickboard liner is sloped for rider protection and at least 4' high (5' high is recommended)

3. Install windows or top clear panels in order to provide more daylight inside of your arena

4. Order your arena with 12" overhangs on gables and eaves.  Buildings with gable overhangs look a lot nicer.

5. Make sure your arena is built using heavy duty glue-laminated posts and other quality materials

6. When metal roof is used, make sure the condensation barrier (double bubble insulation) is installed under metal.  Condensation barrier will not only protect from condensation, but will also help in keeping your arena cooler and will reduce the rain noise.

7. Combination of wooden siding & metal roof will give your arena a rich look compared to metal siding & metal roof.

8. Type of arena footing depends on your arena use.  Do not listen to anyone that tells you otherwise.

9. Arena walls should be between 14' - 18' in height.  16' high walls are most common.
